| Abstract | In 1995 the National Board of Education (NBE) evaluated the special education provided by comprehensive schools and vocational institutions.... The evaluation was a joint effort carried out by four universities and the staff of the NBE.... The evaluation was to pay special heed to the development needs of special education, the division of labour between different authorities, the allocation of resources, and the integration of special education students into mainstream teaching groups.... The present publication contains chapter 8 "Summary and conclusions" of the report on the evaluation of special education. Further, there is a brief survey of the implementation of evaluation and the provision of special education in Finland. (DIPF/orig.). |
