Abstract | The article "reviews teaching for and about democracy in Australia and identifies key concepts embedded in the notion of democracy. Drawing on ethnographic data from both settled and remote Aboriginal Australia, it explores the degree to which understandings and practices associated with these concepts are shared by the dominant society, and finally, considers ramifications that this 'fit' has for education."(Dipf/Bi). |
