| Abstract | The increasing complexity of a teacher's work meens that theit time is increasingly being colonised as their day has more and more tasks crammed into it. (This) is the focus of this paper which explores the impact of the setting up of Local Administrative Committees and Curriculum Committees in state schools in Victoria, Australia. While these committees have been set up to assist in the administration of schools, an important facet of their implementation relates to the demands made on both a Teacher's private and public work time. The paper begins with a discussion of various conceptions of time and how various people have come to perceive time. Next, the paper explores some of the literature to the administration and organisation of people. Lastly, it examines the temporal factors which impinge on the on-going practices of teachers who are both members and non-members of these representative committees. (DIPF/Text uebernommen) |
