| Abstract | The article tries to understand the relation between participate and learn, learn and participate and that, when the child in situation of handicap plays with others, child or adult. To highlight this link, we use empirical data emanating from an ethnographical search within the framework of a doctoral thesis about the participation of the child in situation of handicap in a play. Then, we analyze these data using the theoretical frame of the communities of practice of Wenger (2005) and the two dimensions of the participation that are the commitment and the affordance for Billett (2008). L'article tente d'appréhender la relation entre participer et apprendre, apprendre et participer, et ce, lorsque l'enfant en situation de handicap joue avec d'autres, enfants ou adultes. Pour mettre en lumière ce lien, nous utilisons des données empiriques émanant d'une recherche ethnographique dans le cadre d'une thèse de doctorat sur la participation de l'enfant en situation de handicap à un jeu. Ensuite, nous analysons ces données en utilisant le cadre théorique des communautés de pratique de Wenger (2005) et les deux dimensions de la participation que sont pour Billett (2008), l'engagement et l'affordance.
