Abstract	Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach, wie pädagogische Hochschulen angesichts ihrer spezifischen Situierung in den Systemen von Bildungswissenschaft und Bildungspraxis ihre Forschung verorten und daran anknüpfend Forschungsstrategien entwickeln können. Basierend auf vorliegenden Ordnungsversuchen wird ein durch zwei Dimensionen - Art des angestrebten Nutzens und sozialer Produktionsmodus - strukturiertes Ordnungsschema ("Viererfeld der Forschung") beschrieben und beispielhaft veranschaulicht. Abschliessend wird für eine Profilierung plädiert, welche auf instrumentellen Nutzen für die Praxis ausgerichtete Forschung deutlich ausweist und bei Erhalt der Differenz zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis die Austauschbeziehungen mit den Praxisakteurinnen und Praxisakteuren auch innerhalb des Forschungsprozesses selbst systematisch stärkt. Mit dem Beitrag soll ein Diskurs über längerfristig ausgerichtete Forschungsperspektiven der pädagogischen Hochschulen angeregt werden, der sich den Forderungen nach Anschlussfähigkeit in der internationalen Scientific Community sowie nach Nützlichkeit für nationale, regionale und lokale Bildungssysteme stellt. The article addresses the question of how universities of teacher education can develop appropriate research strategies given their specific localization in the systems of educational science and educational practice. The aim is to provide a basis for considering a research focus with long-term orientation which accounts for the requirements of staying connected with the international scientific community as well as being of use to national, regional and local educational systems. We describe a four-field matrix with two dimensions - constituted by the type of use and the social mode of production - and illustrate it by means of examples. In conclusion we argue that universities of teacher education should focus more strongly on the interrelations with the stakeholders of educational practice, thus strengthening the research process itself, but at the same time maintaining the distinction between the theory of the educational sciences and the practical work in the field. The overriding aim of this contribution is to promote the discussion on long-term research perspectives at universities of teacher education which meet the demands of both the international scientific community, and national, regional and local educational systems equally well.
