Abstract | The computer-managed IEP systems described in this article provide a good sample of what is currently available. After previewing several of them and reviewing the rest, the authors believe that these types of systems have the potential to benefit teachers, administrators, and parents as well as students. They create reports in a more timely and efficient manner, and are flexible and can change as needs change. The ability of special education assistance programs (SEAPs) to ensure compliance with both timeframes and mandated requirements of special education processes provides educators more time to focus on the needs of students by reducing preparation time.
