Abstract | This article describes the Peer-Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS) program for developing reading skills in grades 2-6. It notes a 3rd grade teacher's perspective and reports on research and development efforts supporting use of PALS reading with students with learning disabilities. Noted is the recent extension of PALS reading downward into kindergarten and 1st grade and upward into high school. (Contains references.) (Author/DB) |
