Abstract | In this article I wish to trace three everyday moments in which my Mizrahi Ethnic Identity intersects with the academic one, and then extract experiences of ethnic otherness that are built within those moments. Exploring these moments while considering Mizrahi identity construction, practices of otherness, and terms of silences enables a more nuanced understanding of the ways in which hegemonic practices work and oppress Mizrahi subjects, and how these subjects work against them.
