Abstract | This study's aim is that to determine the requirements for school principals' selection and assignment conditions and to present these requirements' effects. Qualitative research design was used in this research, and also this study is content analysis research. School principals' selection and assignment conditions in Regulations between the years of 2004-2014 content were analyzed in this study. Research universe is consisted of 7 regulations on Ministry of Education Legislation Bank database between the years of 2004-2014 in Turkey. The Regulations about Ministry of Education Educational Institutions Assignment and Transfer of Managers that was published after 2004 were examined under the title of basic principles and general conditions to be assigned as school principal. According to research results, the absence of stability in the appointment system of managers in regulations is remarkable. Firstly, providing stability in the appointment system of managers is necessary. The same problem is observed on the requirements of the managers' assignment. People who have at least graduate degree on educational management field should be assigned as educational manager; assignments should be done according to performance and successes of that manager in the levels where they served as manager.
