Abstract | "This study looks closely at how 725 randomly chosen US higher education faculty are using streamed video, predominantly from the academic library. It helps its readers to answer questions such as: which faculty are using streamed video in the classroom? For research purposes? And to what extent? How satisfied are they with the current offerings and how easy is it for them to access collections and integrate them into their classes or research? In response to an open ended question, survey participant discuss what they expect and need from library streamed video services. Data in the report is broken out by 12 personal and institutional variables including size, type or Carnegie class, tuition level and public/private status of the participant's affiliated institutions, as well as personal characteristics such as academic field, tenure status, academic title, gender, income and other variables. The 85-page study also looks at how use of streamed video collections changed as a result of the pandemic, and asks survey participants to compare their current rate of usage both to pre-pandemic use and use during the height of the pandemic." --Publisher. |
