Abstract	When parents get together, the subject of appropriately addressing the behavior of their children often comes to the forefront of conversations. Parents share various challenges they face with their children, including issues associated with listening, eating vegetables, doing chores, and a host of other discipline-related situations. The plethora of literature illustrates the importance of the subject matter, and the desire of parents/caregivers for advice about appropriately addressing behavior issues in the home. To be sure, one size does not fit all when discussing discipline in the home (Siegel & Hartzell, 2004). With the caveat that multiple factors must be considered when addressing behavior, relative to cultural background, age group, and gender, the authors herewith provide some general tips to consider when addressing children's behavior in the home. They touch on the importance of routines, boundaries, positive reinforcement and discipline, and building self-confidence and finding teachable moments. (ERIC).
