AbstractAmerican degrees have become increasingly fashionable among members of China's rapidly growing middle class who are eager for their children to study American business practices, become well-rounded by getting a higher education degree steeped in the liberal arts and master the English language. In a five-year period beginning in 2005-06, the number of Chinese undergraduates studying in the United States rose from 9,300 to nearly 57,000 in 2010-2011, according to the Institute of International Education, a New York-based nonprofit international education and training organization. Overall, Chinese student enrollment in the United States is higher than that of any other foreign country. In this article, the author discusses how the influx of Chinese students in America helps promote a global workforce. (ERIC).
