AbstractTwo of the nation's top providers of teacher professional development, NSTA and NASA, are a great source of materials that help educators brush up on their science content and process skills. So when they asked the authors to participate in the development of four live online short courses for teachers, the authors' immediate answer was yes! This began the authors' adventure with the NASA IDEA (Integrating NASA Digital Educational Assets) project. The goal of the project was to develop a series of short courses that would bridge the NSTA Learning Center resources with NASA's educational websites. One of the four short courses, which was developed around the NSTA SciPack "The Solar System," was an exploration of the solar system and its celestial bodies. The purpose of this article is to share what the authors believe to be the best solar system digital resources from both the NSTA Learning Center and NASA's educational websites. (Contains 2 figures and 3 online resources.) (ERIC).
