Abstract | There has been an increase in the number of students from China studying in Russia, but still less than 2 percent of Chinese who study abroad do so in Russia. A third of these students would not encourage others to do so, on the grounds that educational conditions are not good and that they feel unwelcome in Russia. Most of these students complained about the condition of classrooms and laboratories and the low level of technical equipment; also, college and university libraries are not adequately provided with necessary scientific literature and textbooks, especially in technical and natural science disciplines. The Chinese students are also chronically dissatisfied with the organization and the conditions under which production training practice is conducted and the opportunity to take part in scientific work.
