Abstract | Higher education is in a transformational period, and this author believes that information technology will play a central role in this transformation, offering unimaginable opportunities and demanding unforeseen responses. She also believes that IT professionals can and should be at the core of envisioning and shaping the future of colleges and universities. In this article, the author offers her confessions and also her advice on leading information technology, and on how IT professionals can (and should) be at the core of envisioning and shaping the future of colleges and universities.
