Abstract	Indoor air pollution refers to "chemical, biological, and physical contamination of indoor air," which may result in adverse health effects (OECD 2003). The causes, sources, and types of indoor air pollutants will be addressed in this article, as well as health effects and how to reduce exposure. Learning more about potential pollutants in home and their negative health effects is critical to establishing cleaner indoor air and a healthier home. There are numerous steps one can take to reduce pollutants, such as increasing ventilation in home, regulating humidity and temperature, and testing one's home for radon. In general, using nontoxic and organic products is also helpful; there are many green products on the market now that are just as effective as older technologies, and far healthier.
