AbstractInsects really need no introduction. They have lived on earth much longer than humans and vastly outnumber people and all other animal species combined. People encounter them daily in their houses and yards. Yet, when children want to investigate insects, books can help them start their explorations. "Paleo Bugs" carries readers back to the time of prehistoric arthropods while "Biggest Bugs Life-Size" introduces remarkable insects living around the world today. Dramatic photos by Nic Bishop and Darlyne Murawski bring readers startlingly close to butterflies, including some in remote places. Illustrations reveal what happens to insects in winter in "Bugs and Bugsicles" and expose how bees tend their hives in "In the Trees, Honey Bees." This article provides a list of books and websites on insects. (ERIC).
