Abstract | Conflict in school settings continues to be an area of concern for school administrators, teachers, and parents. Conflict between and among students in their school environment is followed by aggressive behavior that contributes to violent actions. The aggressive behavior may range from verbal attacks to physical attacks that may end up with the taking of lives. The goal of school administrators has become one of developing prevention measures to stop conflict before it escalates into aggressive and violent behavior. This article describes the effectiveness of peer mediation and how it may play a role in helping students resolve conflict in a constructive rather than a destructive manner. (As Provided). |
