Abstract	Understanding the differences between behavior management and behavior change helps adults identify the differences between the two and teaches them what they can do to be effective in the use of both. This article introduces Positive Behavior Facilitation (PBF) Tool #3 which aims to support adults in understanding the differences between behavior management and supporting the behavior change of another person. This tool's foundation is two-fold: 1) the awareness that while behavior management is critical to addressing behavior, it is the first point on a continuum of interventions; and 2) the acceptance that adults can use their relationships and create environments that support behavior change; however, they cannot change the behavior of another person. PBF Tool #3 suggests that behavior management is simply the beginning of the continuum in addressing and intervening in behavior. It asserts that effective intervention requires a balanced and structured combination of behavior management and supporting behavioral change. (ERIC).
