Abstract | School psychologists make a difference in the lives of children by supporting their academic and social-emotional needs. However, psychologists are often so busy with work and isolated in their schools that they fail to recognize the expertise of their colleagues and how collaboration can strengthen their outcomes. By nurturing longstanding relationships, South Florida children have benefitted from the difference that unity of purpose can make. Area school psychologists, trainers, and graduate students have banded together to form a consortium to better meet the unique needs of local students. This article features South Florida School Psychology Consortium (SFSPC), a consortium that created a forum for ongoing communication and collaboration among university training programs and school districts in South Florida, with the ultimate goal of improving service delivery and enhancing the academic and social-emotional health of children, adolescents, and families.
