Abstract | The recent evolution of the French higher education system is somehow in line with the new European and international environment, although what is specific to a national context should not be ignored. Admittedly, the public allocation of resources to universities is not challenged, the redistribution of funds is still based on an egalitarian principle, and the rise in student tuition fees meets fierce opposition, but the French higher education system has over the past few years tended to align with the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree scheme and to participate more and more in European programs. This article examines the possible effects of a new academic regime on the future of French universities. (ERIC). |
