Abstract | The strength of family learning programmes is that they build on existing ability within the family and celebrate diversity while developing new skills for adults and children alike. Both family literacy, language and numeracy programmes (FLLN), and wider family learning programmes provide key stepping stones for developing the kind of skills that help people move into employment, and high priority is given to this in some policy areas. This article summarises the current policy debate and provides information on new materials NIACE is launching. (ERIC). |
