Abstract	This article discusses the use of teaching teams to encourage active learning in a business communication class. The author offers examples of short activities that can be used to help create an active learning environment. Some of these favorite activities include homework reviews, the value line, 3-2-1 processor, and muddiest point. In each of the examples, students actively participate in the learning process, take ownership for the information, and collaborate to understand and become knowledgeable about the content. The varied use of team activities as state changes during a class session helps students stay focused and involved. This result is well worth the instructional effort needed to prepare and manage an active class. (ERIC).
