Abstract | Technology tools that are used to help apply standards and benchmarks motivate physical educators to use new methods of teaching, and create new ways to provide students with direct formative feedback, the number one motivator for students. Direct formative feedback refers to verbal communication between the teacher and/or parent and student. The teacher or parent is checking for an understanding of the learning target and the student is engaged in the learning process by repeating what is learned, which motivates him or her to understand the application and its relevance to their own lifestyle. Use of technology tools is a phenomenal way to motivate students because of the direct formative feedback technology provides. Students love the interaction with technology and can better understand their individual fitness levels. By using interactive tools, students are "engaged" in their learning because of direct formative feedback. No child is left behind; all children move ahead. (Contains 4 figures.) (ERIC). |
