Abstract	The aim of this study is to investigate how young people in Sweden experience conflicts. The study is phenomenological, which means that the focus is on the essence of the investigated experience. Data have been collected by self-reports and analyzed with the help of an empirical phenomenological method. The research process has resulted in delimitation of three constituents which are essential for the conflict experience. The core of this experience consists of anger, mental strain and unfair treatment. Anger is the most predominant in conflict situations and strongly influences the style of conflict management.
