Abstract	In this article, the author deplores how the No Child Left Behind Act has caused schools throughout the nation to dramatically reduce the number of curriculum hours for science, art, music, and history and social studies. The author contends that there is nothing wrong with these standards but he observes how teachers are being threatened by NCLB and standardized tests and are being pressured by administrators to raise test scores that they no longer have time to introduce in-depth projects or discussion of current issues--issues that will affect their students' future, and that of the nation and the world--into their classrooms. The author also presents a list of Web sites that represent a range of national and global issues. (ERIC).
