| Abstract | In this article, the author discusses the problems faced by educators in teaching about the Holocaust. She relates that because the Holocaust is now frequently taught in middle schools and in upper elementary grades, by the time it is taught in high schools, students will experience "Holocaust fatigue." As such, teachers face the challenge of presenting the Holocaust in a new, interesting, intellectually engaging, and emotionally affecting way. She suggests the following methods: (1) Teach about the history of anti-Semitism when covering the Holocaust; (2) Provide students with a range of explanations for perpetrators' behaviors; and (3) Know where you, as a teacher, stand; what your lessons are; and where you draw the boundaries between over generalizing and over specifying.
