Abstract | For any technological development, we must always take into account very important set of equations: More (vocational) relevant EDUCATION = more skilled man POWER = more take-up of labour by industry = more competitive PRODUCTION = more WEALTH = reduction in unemployment and/or its effects. Conclusion: The first step in any technological development must be adequate preparation, i.e. education of human resources for this development. Slovenia wishes to base its own development and prosperity mainly on knowledge. Therefore, the change and modification of the education system became imperative.
