Abstract | Problematic and unhealthy personality characteristics have typically been the focus of researchers interested in the possible causes of substance abuse/use. Study compares personality structure among three groups of rural college students: abstainers, experimenters, and regular users. Minimal support was obtained for the hypothesis that moderate users may have "healthier" characteristics than either abstainers or regular users. (Contains 19 references.) (GCP) |
