Abstract | Two studies examined the relationships of gender role variables to attitudes toward homosexuality. Results from a literature review and from college student surveys indicated a relationship between gender role beliefs and attitudes toward homosexuality. Findings support the view that heterosexuals' dislike of homosexuals is at least partially motivated by a desire to maintain traditional gender role distinctions. (Contains references.) (SM) |
