Abstract | Describes a situation in which a middle school child with poor attendance due to medical problems was denied a place in the school's show choir. She subsequently became depressed as her mother fought for her right to participate and the school actively excluded her. The paper examines the mother's complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act and resulting court battles. (SM) |
