Abstract | A study investigated the way general and special educators included six students with moderate and severe developmental disabilities in five elementary classrooms. Teachers were found to use an assimilationist approach to diversity, downplaying the differences between the students with disabilities and their classmates. Teacher collaboration is discussed.
