Abstract | This study compared the responses of 73 students (ages 6 to 21) with hearing impairments and a matched sample of hearing students to 14 cartoons. No significant differences in humor ratings were found between groups in their overall ratings, although significant differences were found between age groups and genders with younger participants and males finding the cartoons more amusing.
