Abstract | Studied the gender role attitudes of 165 adolescent girls as mediated by their mothers' attitudes and child-rearing styles. Overall, data demonstrate the importance of mothers in the development of daughters' gender role attitudes. Child-rearing style and maternal gender role attitudes are important, with maternal education and employment having indirect effects. (SLD) |
