Abstract | Reports outcomes of a survey examining the obstacles confronted by professional development coordinators at a (British) local education authority's middle and high schools. Respondents revealed several areas of difficulty: lack of time, lack of appraisal feedback, and inadequate knowledge and skills for themselves and middle managers. Suggests every school would benefit from the services of a skilled, respected colleague to oversee effective staff development. (16 references) (MLH) |
