Abstract | Interviews concerning attitudes and beliefs about Mexicans and Americans and about life in Mexico and the United States were conducted with 24 wives of Mexican workers in the United States; wives were living permanently in rural Jalisco, Mexico. Topics included moral values, educational attitudes, child rearing, quality of life, California's Proposition 187, and their husbands' sacrifices for family survival. (SV) |
