Abstract | Classifies and discusses Afrikana women's feminism within the following categories: Black Feminism, Womanism, and Afrikana Womanism. Clearly, the mainstream Euroamerican conceptualization of feminism is an inappropriate framework to address the concerns and issues of Afrikana womanism. Privileged Eurofeminists have failed to acknowledge Afrikana women's lived experiences and the multiple, interlocking forms of oppression shaping their lives. (Contains 18 references.) (MLH) |
