Abstract | Briefly examines strengths and weaknesses of three parent training approaches used by school counselors. Describes the Integrative Parent Training Model, which considers behavioral, affective, cognitive, and interpersonal responses of parents to their children's misbehavior. Provides parents with alternative explanations for children's misbehavior, alternative behavioral responses, and behavioral management techniques. (JAC) |
