Abstract | The question of what constitutes an educated person is considered from a cross-cultural perspective. Ideas from culture-based models--including the educated Westerner, the classical Hindu, the Confucian Chinese, the Maoist, and the holistic model--are presented. Implications of these concepts for the educational planner of today are discussed. (SF) |
