Abstract | Dance as teaching, dance as learning, and dance as art-making are viewed as flowing from the pure discipline of dance. The interaction between dance and educational institutions is perceived as nonthreatening when it views dance as an art (at the center of which is the doing and making), when a sense of identity is allowed, and when material resources are made available.
