Abstract | The 1977 meeting of the North Carolina Sociological Association illustrated the importance of having a focus on teaching. A survey indicated that (1) the undergraduate teaching focus led to record attendance; (2) there is a preference for emphasis on teaching in future meetings; (3) ASA representatives made a positive contribution; and (4) participants indicated professional growth as a result of the meetings.
