AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the in-service training needs of physics teachers for the inquiry-based curricula. The survey method was used in the research. In-Service Training Needs Determination Questionnaire for Physics Teachers developed by the researchers is consist of three components, demographic information and teaching profession knowledge, physics teaching in Likert scale. The questionnaire was applied to the probability sampling. A total of 374 physics teachers participated in the survey. The teachers participating in the survey has been affiliated schools in the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in Turkey. The result of data analysis shows that the physics teachers need to be introduced to current teaching methods and techniques such as workshop and argumentation. This study showed that the teachers need in-service training that the subject of equipping cognitive skills such as critical and creative thinking in students. This study offers suggestions to increase the effectiveness of in-service trainings. (As Provided).
