AbstractThe purpose of this practice brief is to share our educational technology team's best practices for facilitating preservice teachers' self-directed learning in technology-focused learning environments. Our team has developed technology courses that support and encourage learning environments in which students have opportunities to engage with our CLEAR model. This model allows learners to choose, lead, experience, apply, and reflect on technology ideals and skills. Self-directed learning is effectively fostered through the use of this model and promotes future teachers who are independent, self-directed technology learners and users. (As Provided).
