| Abstract | Today, social media is gaining particular attention for providing users with multiple applications to connect with friends, family, and businesses. While most social media platforms can be beneficial, there are also risks. Educators, school psychologists and graduate students need to monitor how they present themselves to the public and how they engage in online forums. This article discusses ways in which school psychologists and graduate student trainees are engaging in social media, the ethical aspects that must be considered concerning social media usage, and how school psychology supervisors and trainers can support professional growth through the ethical use of social media platforms in a digital age. While the focus is on practicum and internship students, much of the guidance in this article is equally applicable to practicing school psychologists. (ERIC). |
