Abstract | Using narrative inquiry methodology grounded in the polymorphous paradigm and intersectionality as a conceptual framework, this study explored the experiences of seven college student sex workers. Together, we uncovered substantial differences between the experiences of college student sex workers with dominant identities largely present in extant research versus those with racially and sexually minoritized identities who are markedly absent from empirical study. Findings included the hypermarginalization students experience through the compounding of oppression of being a sex worker, queer (in)visibility, as well as violence and subjugation. Additionally, students articulated that while sex work is not necessarily a positive experience, they still want their labor choice to be respected. (As Provided). |
