Abstract	The commercial use of UAS (unmanned aerial systems) more commonly known as "drones" is increasing rapidly in a variety of areas from agriculture to construction (Marshall, 2016). The need for people who can safely operate UAS, understand the legal restrictions and privacy concerns related to UAS use, and build and repair UAS is increasing at a rapid rate (FAA, 2018). As this technology is still relatively new and constantly changing, a need exists to train educators and students on the safe operation of UAS and how teachers can integrate UAS into their classrooms. In the summer of 2019 faculty and staff at Eastern Kentucky University secured grant funding to offer a workshop for engineering and technology educators in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Over the course of a one-week (5 days) workshop, attendees fabricated and test-flew fully autonomous aircraft. The purpose of this workshop was to train engineering and technology education teachers to build and fly UAS so that they can incorporate this technology into their classrooms. Feedback from the participants was very positive, and the university facilitators learned a lot from conducting the workshop. (ERIC).
