Abstract | Much progress has been made in the areas of diminishing, avoiding, and resisting plagiarism, due to the recent development of plagiarism tools. Many scholars/authors across the globe have been struggling with plagiarism, giving a number of lectures and writing articles pinpointing strategies that take into account on-line plagiarism services such as Turnitin[TM], iThenticate, among others, besides the writing tools. In this light, the present article is an attempt to introduce spinning-translation as a method to overthrow plagiarism in classroom context. Through different language translation aids and online paraphrasing tools, students are applying the method of spinning-translation to disguise the source text accordingly. Additionally, the current paper endeavours to highlight how spinning-translation aims to takeover codes of academic research integrity before introducing beneficial plagiarism paraphrasing tools and platforms. Finally, this paper tends to peruse how plagiarism detection services (e.g. cross-language plagiarism detection methods) might come to the fore to address spinning-translation and to flick the means of diminishing, avoiding, and resisting plagiarism in classroom contexts.
