Abstract | Dr. Tracey Burns is a Senior Analyst in the OECD's Centre for Educational Research and Innovation. She heads a portfolio of projects including Innovative Teaching for Effective Learning, 21st Century Children and Trends Shaping Education. Until recently she was also responsible for the OECD work on Governing Complex Education systems. Previous to her time at the OECD she worked on social determinants of health and well-being. Dr. Burns holds a BA from McGill University, Canada, and an MA and Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from Northeastern University, USA. In this interview Dr. Burns addresses topics such as how the OECD is dealing with the COVID-19 crisis; how she sees the ongoing challenges affecting surveys such as PISA; digital access concerns in OECD countries; school leaders' response to online learning; the potential role for the tech giants and the potential role for inspectorates during the pandemic.
