AbstractIn their bold vision Forward Framework, the Association for College Personnel Administrators (ACPA; 2018) has defined an explorative divesting of power from colonizers as decolonization. The definition of decolonization is "a long-term process of first recognizing and then divesting bureaucratic, cultural, linguistic, educational, and psychological power from colonizers" (p. 11). This article explores what it looks like to leverage growth mindset cultivation tools to prepare people for a decolonization mindset that could repair material inequities, restore justice caused by violence, and heal those who have been disenfranchised while also not mimicking the colonizing culture as many of the scholars within Olivia Rutazibwa and Robbie Shilliam's 2018 edited book "Routledge Handbook of Postcolonial Politics" have called for. What could this growth mindset look like for educators in the examination of and understandable challenge of previous absolute truths to live by? Herein, the author shares eight lessons from her own continued growth mindset journey. (ERIC).
