Abstract | This conversation started in the fall of 2019 and continued through the pandemic transitions in the spring of 2020. The conversation was between faculty and graduate students about what student affairs (SA) says it values and what practice actually looks like. The authors talk about SA aspiring to support all students personally, academically, and professionally. They discuss how SA supports graduate students who aspire to work in the field. The reflection morphed into a dialogue about how the profession can do better in this time of change and experimentation. For current and recent grads, there is disappointment in how the pandemic altered their experiences. As SA professionals identify areas of failure, they can simultaneously identify ways they can do better. (ERIC). |
